Guide of Ibiza

Ibiza is located in the Mediterranean Sea and is part of the Balearic Islands, in Spain and its official name is Eivissa in Catalan. The island dates back to around 600 BC. when the Phoenicians founded a port here.  Under the Romans, the island became known for its wine, marble and lead. Today the island is famous for entertainment and nightlife, so in the mornings it is possible to enjoy the beautiful beaches when they are almost deserted.

Beaches

The most beautiful beaches are the ones surrounded by rich Mediterranean vegetation, such as the bay of San Miguel, Plava es Cana and Cala San Vincent. The landscape on the island is characterised by typical Mediterranean scrub, olive, fig and almond trees.

Places to visit

Do not miss the centre of the old town of Ibiza, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by high walls and full of alleys and narrow streets where you can shop for artisanal gifts and admire palaces and art galleries. Do not miss the Gothic style cathedral called Nuestra Senora de las Nievas and the nearby archaeological museum. The most important towns on the island are Eivissa, Santa Eularia and Sant Antoni.
