The island of Lefkada almost seems like a peninsula as it is connected by bridge to the mainland, so is very easy to reach. There are some lovely inland villages to explore that are rich in historical architecture. Cerigo is the ideal island for those who enjoy ancient Byzantine buildings, it possible to retrace the past through the architecture of these ancient villages. Paxos is a captivating island because of its excellent beaches and crystal clear waters. Finally, Kefalonia is loved by just about every type of traveler as it is the largest island and is always has a pleasant breeze.
